We booked tickets with Travel China Guide. Our tour guide was Celine who picked us up at our hotel and gave us a knowledgeable and insightful detail of all the locations visited. It was a pleasure to be in her company for the day. You will not be disappointed with this tour. Thank you Celine for a wonderful day.

Great Tour in Beijing
Our tour guide, Rocky, exhibited exceptional professionalism and friendliness throughout the tour. He diligently provided us with insightful narratives about the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China.
Notably, Rocky demonstrated great care and assistance towards the elderly members of our group.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Rocky for his exceptional hospitality and the enriching experience he provided us.

Good Day with the Tour (Rocky)
Its a fantastic sight seeing day with this tour and I like to give a special big thanks to our tour guide Rocky. We went to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Great Wall. I rate Rocky as 'A' grade guide. Rich of experience and knowledge of history. Rocky shows a high level of professionalism and went extra miles to address few of my issues in the beginning of the tour. The tour is also straight forward and tell you what to expect and they don't take us to some shopping scams. Enough said, I am a happy customer. Thanks again.

Best day in Beijing
Helen was an absolutely amazing tour guide. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about everything we saw. She took us to Tiananmen Square, through the entire Forbidden City, and finally a trip to the Great Wall of China. She had so many interesting facts and useful tips. I would 100% recommend everyone go on this tour!

Excellent concise day trip to some of the top locations in Xi'An
I joined this fantastic day trip as a solo traveller, making it very easy to see some of the top attractions in Xi'An!
Tracy was able to give us a lot of insightful commentary as we toured the terracotta warriors (pits 1 2 3 and museum, even getting to meet one of the discovers of the buried warriors!), pagoda, and city wall. Sufficient time (dynamic based on the group input) was given, focusing on the history and story of each location.
We also stopped for lunch to enjoy some local food after the warriors which was a good opportunity to be introduced to the popular dishes of Xi'An.
The bus travel was very comfortable and efficient, especially since hotel pick up (and drop off if necessary, or to the Muslim quarter) is all included in the service.
I would highly recommend this trip to someone looking to hit some key places quickly on a trip to the city!

Highly recommend!
I recently went on a tour of the famed terracotta army near Xian. Tracy, my tour guide and local to Xi'An was a phenomenal treat to help explain and educate my group about many different aspects of Chinese history and culture. She was one of the best guides I've ever had and thankful she was with us. Tracy gave clear and very detailed explanations in perfect English. It was easy to understand her and she was able to explain many different questions we had.
She was the definition of why you hire a tour guide: Great information, easy to understand, and a lovely guide to flow you through history and the sites around an unfamiliar place.
Thanks Tracy, this was an experience I'll remember for a long time.

Great tour with Rocky
Our tour of the Great Wall and Summer Palace with Rocky was absolutely unforgettable! His deep knowledge, engaging storytelling, and passion for Chinese history made every moment come alive. He took us to a less crowded section of the Wall for breathtaking views and shared fascinating insights at the Summer Palace, making the experience truly immersive. Rocky was not only informative but also incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had the best spots for photos and even recommending great local food. If you’re looking for a friendly, knowledgeable guide who makes history exciting, Rocky is the one—highly recommended!

AMAZING TOUR WITH TRACY AND LI
Tracy was an amazing tourguide. She was very knowledgeable of the sites, the tour and very open for questions. She spoke very clearly and very understandable english. The tourgroup was not big so that was nice to have time and space to ask questions and walk around the sites. Tracy also spoke very calmly and peaceful, so that was amazing with all the crowds. Driver Li was also very good, he drove very peaceful and relax, had a good nap in between the spots.

What a fantastic trip with Tour guide Vincent and Driver Wu. Vincent is very friendly and helpful, his knowledge of the surround’s and things in general were so helpful. He speaks fluent English and is widely travelled.

Exceeded my expectation- in every way-thank you Helen
This is the first time in my travels that the reality exceeded my expectations- a truly wonderful day and I’d wholly recommend the tour.
Helen our guide was 11/10 . Diplomatic, rich with history and facts - not engrained with political dogma and got the balance right.
The tour itself was well organised with Helen going the extra mile - if obstacles presented themselves she sorted with effortless efficiency- small things that helped - when she got to the drop off point - end of day- she booked taxis for guests onward journeys
The tour itself was perfect - the forbidden palace has one fault - the CCP has not bequeathed it to me - I’d be a perfect 26th emperor !
The Great Wall must be seen and walked - I don’t care if it was build last week or last millennia- it’s power and stature is awesome- beyond compare
Full marks to this form and the guide - I did not feel like a herded sheep like one can do on these trips - the guide’s English impeccable and the history so rich.
Gracious thanks - I’ll be back with my family

Fantastic tour
Fantastic experience to see all the big sites in one day. Our tour leader Helen was exceptional in providing the right amount of information and getting us through the sites efficiently. Would definitely recommend if you have limited time in Beijing, it wasn’t too overwhelming to fit it all in!

An experience of a lifetime!
This excursion is a must do when visiting Zhangjiajie! 2 days is the perfect amount of time to see everything in this amazing part of China. Our guide Regina was professional and knowledgeable. She even brought us local snacks and waters! We don’t know what we would’ve done without her. We visited everything listed on the itinerary and were picked up from our hotel promptly. Regina went over and beyond, taking fantastic care of me and my friend. Definitely would book again next time with this company!

Excellent Tour!
I had a really great experience with our tour guide, Rocky! We saw everything I wanted to see, and he helped us avoid the crowds and tourist traps. The forbidden city and the Great Wall were once in a lifetime experiences, and the hotel pickup and drop off made the whole experience stress free.

Amanda made our day!
We had a one day tour to Zhangjiajie national forest park. Our guide Amanda was amazing. A sweet local guide that wanted to show us the forest park, which used to be her home as a child. Unfortunately we couldn’t see much of the forest park, because it was too foggy. Despite the weather we are so happy with our day, we got to see some of the beautiful nature, some monkeys and had an overall really great experience! We absolutely recommend you a visit!

Great tour
Our guide, Regina went above and beyond to take care of the group, carrying a ton of snacks, rain coats and water, and she is a great problem solver when an issue arose with the time limit at the Glass Bridge. We are so lucky to have her as our guide.

Exactly what I wanted from a day in Beijing...a great day!
What a great day! Well organised, and without hickups...a fantastic group of strangers put together for the day (I might have been lucky there, who knows)...enough time to see everything on the list without getting boring. Just right.
and our tour guide Helen was a standout host, very knowledgeable in history...ancient and recent, super efficient in every aspect. The chairman would have been proud of her!
THANK YOU Helen!
one word of advice, have breakfast, it's a long time until the first snack. And don't forget your passport!!

A great way to see the highlights of Xi'An
Wow! The Terracotta Warriors are a must see!
I had the pleasure of spending the day with Celine. She was an extremely uplifting and well-informed tour guide - her commentary on the history of the sites made the tour so much more interesting!
Her communication before and after the tour was great. I would definitely recommend taking the tour with her.

Great tour with Exceptional tour guide, Helen
We had only one day to explore Beijing and with this tour we managed to do it. At the beginning I thought it’s a bit expensive, but come on this could be my only visit to Beijing. Hence, I booked it and I didn’t regret it at all. Helen, the tour guide, was exceptional. She was very informative, friendly, care taker for the whole group, taking even pictures for us, telling us where’s the best place to buy souvenirs, and even how much we should bargain. We did Visit the forbidden city, the great wall, and Tiananmen square. The trip is highly recommended and you will be lucky if it’s with Helen

**Outstanding Experience with Travel China and Our Guide Martin**
We recently booked a trip to Shanghai with Travel China for our group of six, and it was an unforgettable experience. We were fortunate to have Martin as our tour guide. His proficiency in both English and Mandarin made communication a breeze.
Martin's professionalism and profound knowledge of the attractions we visited in Shanghai and Suzhou truly enriched our trip. He provided detailed and engaging insights that brought the history and culture of these beautiful cities to life.
Additionally, Martin's recommendations for our meals were spot-on, offering us authentic and reasonably priced dining experiences. Thanks to him, we enjoyed the best local cuisine.
We wholeheartedly recommend Travel China to anyone visiting China. Their reliable and customized guided tours will enhance your travel experience. Special thanks to Martin for making our trip so memorable!

Well-paced tour with great views
We began the day getting picked up by our tour guide Kevin and our driver. Kevin was friendly and humorous, and throughout the tour he gave detailed commentary on what we were looking at.
Our group (about 10 people) started off at Tiananmen Square. After a short trip through the square we toured the forbidden city. In my opinion, February is an excellent time to visit because it is significantly less crowded. I’ve been there recently in April/May and it can be claustrophobic with just how dense the crowd is.
After the forbidden city, we were driven to the Mutianyu location of the Great Wall. Given the season, it was nearly empty, which I personally prefer.
We grabbed a quick lunch at a buffet before the group split up for about 2 hours. I ended up taking a cable car up the wall (ticket not included), and the views from up top were incredible. From the top, you can hike a bit along the wall (be aware, it is very steep in some places and the stairs can be difficult to navigate for some). Again, there were very few people on the wall which was great. After rendezvousing we got back into the van and headed back to our hotel.
Overall this was a very enjoyable experience. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel like were moving too slowly.
I would definitely recommend this tour if you want a 1 day medium-paced walking tour of some of Beijing’s “must-sees.”

Fantastic must see Xi’an sites with amazing tour guide
I did the Mini Group Xian Day Tour to Terracotta Army, City Wall, Pagoda and Muslim Bazaar with Lily.
The service provided by Lily was just fantastic. I had some issues with getting to the location on time (as I was taking a train from Guangzhou to Beijing). They were able to put me in touch with Lily the day before and we were able to adjust the pick up time for me to be able to join the tour.
On the drive to the Terracotta Army Lily gave us a brief history of the dynasties that we were exploring that day.
The scale of the excavation happening at the Terracotta Army just blew me away. It has always been one of my top visit places and it was well worth it. We spent a few hours there walking around with Lily explaining things to us. The potential of what is still buried and yet to be uncovered and explored is unfathomable. It is just the tip of the iceberg as Lily said. After we finished exploring the sites, Lily took us to a restaurant to have lunch
Our next stop was the Big Goose Pagoda. Lily walked us around and gave us a brief history. It was a very peaceful place.
Our next stop was the City Wall. It is incredible that the city wall is still intact in its entirety. You are able to walk (8 hours) or cycle (3 hours) around it.
Next our group split up as some people needed to catch a train and other went back to their hotel. Lily took me to the Muslim Bazaar. I had been looking forward to it all do and couldn’t wait to eat some street food. As soon as you entered the street you are immersed in the delicious smell food. There were so many options. I ended up trying a famous Xi’an food/snack - Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger with meat), Candied fruit (tanghulu), and another famous Xian food/snack - Cake Caldron (Zeng Gao).
I had some time before I had to get my flight to Guangzhou and Lily and I sat and had a coffee at Starbucks. I had a lovely chat with her for a couple of hours and she was able to explain a lot of the Chinese customs I had questions about, and just talking in general. She has been the best tour guide I have ever had on a tour.

LJ great English speaking guide of Zhangjaijie
This is a review of our Zhangjjajie portion of a longer 11 day personal China tour with Marco Polo Tours. We were assigned LJ as guide and were asked if it would be ok if Daniel joined us as he was training. Some technical difficulty reaching LJ prior to arrival, but once cleared up LJ very responsive to communications via WeChat. LJ and driver met us late night at train station and drove us to hotel which was Harmony Resort. Some issues there as we are in off season, but overall, nice. The next morning we met LJ, Daniel and driver in lobby and went to Glass bridge and Bailong lake. LJ picked a nice place for lunch afterwards and we asked to go to market for snacks which was not a problem. The evening was to ourselves. We had a massage at hotel spa. The next day we did the National park. That was well paced and LJ was entertaining and informative. Daniel acted as our personal photographer. we declined going out to lunch and asked to stop at market for snacks again before being dropped back at hotel for evening. The next day we went to Heaven’s Gate before being dropped at train station for our next destination. LJ was very clear on timing and options available. We chose to take a shorter walking route and escalators up and down because of timing. He even took my husband to find a store to fix his broken phone screen.
LJ spoke very good English and was very informative on a wide range of topics. We would highly recommend LJ for Zhangjaijie area.

Arthur is great English speaking guide for Guilin
This review is for the Guilin portion of an 11 day private tour through Marco Polo Tours. Highly recommend Arthur as your guide of Guilin. He has been doing this for a long time and still loves showing off his home town. He speaks English well, and is enthusiastic and courteous. Grateful for the early and frequent communication prior to meeting. He met us at airport very late in evening with excellent driver Mr Tree. They took us to hotel and Arthur checked us in and made sure we were good before saying good night. He picked us up early the next morning and we drove to cruise boat for 4 1/2 boat ride down Li River. It was abdolutely beautiful. We then drove back to Guilin through countryside for photo stops. The evening was to ourselves which perfectly aligned with Lantern Festival fireworks for many hours! The next day Arthur and Mr Tree picked us up late morning and headed to The Reed Flute Cave which was a natural wonder. We then were driven to train station to head to our next China destination. Arthur came through security with us to make sure we knew which gate our train would leave from.
Thank you Arthur, you made Guilin visit great! Thank you Mr Tree.(Hope spelling close).

Personalized English speaking tour guide of Xi’an
This is a review of our Xi’an portion of a larger tour with Marco Polo Tours. We had Lily as our guide. She was very good with communication early and often. She met us at gate of train station, driver waiting outside, took us to hotel and checked us in. Next day she again. Met us at hotel and we drove to see the Terracotta Warriors. It was nice having a private English spoken tour. Lily is a historian by education so knew many facts and was able to answer all questions. Lily picked a wonderful restaurant to eat lunch near by , we then drove to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Our hotel was walking distance so we said good bye for day. Next day again she met us at hotel, we checked out and we were able to leave our bags in car with driver as we explored city wall and Muslim Quarter and have lunch before our departing flight. Lily was absolutely necessary in airport to check us in. She went above and beyond at counter negotiations. She even sent WeChat messages to tell us gate number as it posted and to make sure we landed in our next destination. Thank you Lily!

Great day tour with Carol
Our tour guide, Carol, took us on a really informative and enjoyable tour. On the drive from Xi’an to the Terracotta Warriors she gave us a very detailed history of the Qin dynasty as a background of what we were going to see. Once there she gave us time to take photos and look around, as well as stopping us in relevant locations to give more information about what we were seeing. This was very useful as there were no English descriptions for us to read. She took us to a nearby place for lunch, very delicious food. On the way to the Big Wild Goose pagoda, she was available for questions, about what we were seeing today, history of China in general, or even modern day China and any questions we had. She gave us a lot of information about Xi’an today and what it is like to live there. Again, at the sights she provided lots of information and answered all of our questions, as well as giving us the option to climb to the top of the pagoda or not. The City Wall was a great sight, because of the architecture but also seeing people dressed in traditional clothes having photoshoots. At the end of the tour Carol accompanied us to the Muslim bazaar and gave us recommendations of what to do, as well as explaining how to get back to our hotel.
Overall a great day and I wouldn’t have changed anything about the organisation.

Family of four visiting during Chinese New Year Holiday
We visited as a family of four adults during the end of the lunar new years holiday together with our guide LJ and had a really wonderful time. The bridge is an impressive piece of infrastructure, and terrifying yet thrilling to walk on, and the natural landscape is absolutely stunning!
Due to the planning of Travel China Guide and our local guide LJ, everything went really smooht. We found the best views, easily got through crowds, and managed to see a lot in such a limited time. Additionally our guide took plenty of lovely group photos of us so that we have some nice memories!
At the glass bridge there were plenty of activities one could partake in. We tried the VR and the zip-line, though with my brother being almost 2 meters, the 90kg weight limit for the zip line didn't allow him to join that. But he still got to enjoy the slides and other things just fine! And if anything, he always had the best views being taller than the crowd.
I would reallly recommend Travel China Guide for their overall well planned trip arrangements and really lovely local guides. We had an amazing time and got to learn a lot and have our ridiculous questions answered.

Family of four adults visiting Zhangjiajie during CNY
We are a Norwegian family of four adults travelling to Zhangjiajie for the first time at the end of the Chinese new years holiday in February. As expected there were some crowds and long queues, but our excellent guide LJ swiftly got us through all of them with ease. He really knew his ways both around the ticket offices, the queue systems and also the local nature, history, folklore and customs. A very lovely person in every sense of the word; calm, kind and well spoken. He managed to relay the stories and memories of the Tujia people, the geography, the development of the area and his own experience growing in this area and seeing all the changed first hand. Our flight was delayed arriving in Zhangjiajie, which affected our scheduled program, however our guide LJ managed to quickly shuffle it around so that we got through everything in the end.
Travelling from Norway, we’re fairly spoilt when it comes to beautiful nature. Yet this place left us completely speechless. We were lucky enough to see the incredible mountains in both sun, fog AND snowy conditions - all with its own kind of beauty.
We did the schedule in 3 days, and still felt like we got a lot out of it. Without the guide and arrangement from Travel China Guide, we probably wouldn’t have been able to get through even 1/3rd of it. Everything went smooth and as promised, airport pickups, hotel check-in, attraction tickets, driver to and from the various locations and so on. Even food recommendations were great!
Overall a fantastic experience - highly recommended!
