I’m doing the 11-day Highlights tour with my husband and our grown son. Tracy with China Guide Tours was a fantastic tour guide in Xi’an.. She was very informative and well organized. The hotels and everything with China Guide Tours has been top notch. Even when the Beijing attractions were closed for a day due to gale warnings, they made up most of our itinerary over the next two days and refunded the difference. The company has been great to work with. I recommend to anyone who wants to visit China.

We had an amazing time exploring the highlights of Beijing, and it was all thanks to our incredibly knowledgeable guide, Barry. He ensured the group stayed together and was comfortable throughout the day, always attentive and organized. Barry was especially patient and engaging with my two energetic kids—he asked them questions and kept them involved, which made the experience even more enjoyable for the whole family.

His clear and fluent English made it easy to follow along as he shared fascinating insights into Beijing’s rich history and culture, including iconic sites like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace.

My husband and I had an amazing experience with our guide Kaia. From the first second, she made us feel welcome and at home. We spent fantastic days with her! She has lots of knowledge about the landscape, culture and habits of the locals, and furthermore she has a fantastic sense of humour that made our experience even better!! I booked the tour with my wife for our honeymoon. Our guide Kaia was the best! While visiting the amazing locations, she gave us a lot of details about the points of interest, answered all of our questions about the history, daily life, and traditions of the Chinese people, and guided us to see the most beautiful sceneries! She was really knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk to! If you want to really enjoy the tour, ask for our friend Kaia!

This was part of a 19 day tour booked through Travel China Guide. Our tour guide for Xian was Celine, she was amazing catering to our every need. She arranged for an early start to the Terracotta Army meaning we beat the crowds. Celine told us about the fabulous evening culture walkable from our hotel and made sure we knew exactly how to get there and back. Her recommendation of the free fountain show was superb and a highlight of our time in Xian. Everyone was so friendly, which we found was the norm everywhere we went. The locals couldn't speak much English and we speak even less Chinese however they wanted to converse with us using translation apps on our phones. The Muslim street where we had lunch on the last day was a lovely end to our time in Xian. It's the place to buy your souvenirs.

Candy was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable and funny. She is the best guide I could have asked for and I felt very safe traveling solo. Our tour with Rocky was a great experience. So much so that we ended up on an unplanned private tour with him through Travel China Guide after only signing up for a 2 day Beijing tour, on which he had been assigned.

He was open in communicating with us, reliable, knowledgeable and patient with everyone. He also arranged lunch for us and took our photos, which he gave to us when the tour ended.

Our itinerary on the first day of the group tour had changed because of the strong wind. Tiananmen Square as well as the Mutianyu and Badaling Great Walls were closed for safety reasons. Rocky did a great job making the most of it for us, which was greatly appreciated.

Rocky reserved Tiananmen Square entries for us after the tour on our second day. And he booked us a taxi to the Square so we didn't have to navigate around public transport.

The next day, he tooked us to Jinshanling Great Wall on a private tour and it was amazing. It was surreal to have actually been on the Great Wall and have the opportunity to take it all in.

All tours were a great pleasure with Rocky and the drivers safely navigating through crazy Beijing traffic. It very much looked different but we were able to do everything we had planned thanks to the tour company and especially Rocky, who made it all happen. Our holiday is off to a great start!

I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Beijing! I came on tour with my Husband, we had a great time from beginning to end! Helen is a kind, knowledgeable, and attentive guide. The pick up was punctual. We learned about the history & fun facts of forbidden city, & Great Wall of China. Helen knows the best photo spots in every location so we got amazing memorable photos! I’m so glad we went on this tour it is one of the best tours you can do in Beijing!

This is a great tour for first-time visitors to Xi'an who want to see the main tourist attractions in the area. Our tour guide for the day was Rita, and she was wonderful. She kept the tour organized, shared the plans for the day and each stop, told us about the Chinese history (which we loved!), and gave us plenty of time for photos and a little exploring on our own at every stop.

We started the day by driving to the Terracotta Warriors, where we saw all three pits and made a brief stop at a museum to view some of the warriors with their original paint still visible. After that, we had some free time for lunch or to explore the area a bit more. We followed Rita’s recommendations for a local restaurant and tried some dishes from Shaanxi cuisine - biangbiang noodles were simply delicious!

After lunch, we headed back to Xi'an to visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. The area is bigger than expected, with a few quiet, tranquil nooks and beautiful halls to wander through. At the Xi'an City Wall, we had time to rent bikes (own expense) and rode along the wall to the West Gate and back as it allowed us to see more than we would do compared to walking. We ended the tour at the Muslim Bazaar which is a good place to try new and interesting street food.

Rita made the entire day a great experience. She dedicated her full attention to our group and answered all of our questions about China and Xi’an. Thank you, Rita, for the tour!

We had a wonderful few days on this tour. Tracy was informative, helpful, and a lot of fun. We were able to visit all the places in Zhangjiajie that we were hoping to see. The Avatar mountains were incredible. The photos we took won't do it justice. Tracy even took us to a place away from the crowds to where we had an amazing view and could hear the birds chirping. It is a memory I'll hold for a lifetime. The bridge was fun. We did a zipline and a glass slide. The whole tour was exactly what we were hoping it would be. And thank you Tracy for teaching us about the history, but also always making sure we were taken care of with the tickets, hotel, and translating for us!

We booked a 12-day private tour via this company but this review is only for the Beijing section. Candy was our tour guide during these three days. She speaks English very well and is very kind and patient. We were picked up at the airport without any issues and dropped off to the train station to go to Xian. The three days were all very well planned. The restaurants organized or recommended by her were also great. We also had plenty of time to enjoy each site and the visits to the great wall and forbidden city did not feel rushed at all. I highly recommend booking a group or private tour with this company. They made our trip pleasant and we did not have to worry about anything; especially because not many people speak English in Beijing.

Amazing trip in Zhangjiajie with Winnie who has already been so kind in showing us around, taking pictures of us, and explaining the sightseeings, history, culture and all! The view of the nature was superb and supported with great infrastructure. Whilst the trip is a bit physically demanding (expect a lot of walks on slightly ascending trails), it is still a very well recommended tour with smooth communication and flexible arrangements. Amazing full day tour with our tour guide Carol. An easy stress-free tour with hotel pick-up and drop-off, pre-booked tickets, and very attentive tour guide, supported by driver Mr Wang who ably took us through the busy streets of Xi’an. The sites can be difficult to navigate for non-Chinese speakers, so was very helpful having an English speaking guide who was very knowledgeable and went the extra mile to ensure we were all comfortable, including ensuring those who had to leave early knew how to get to their next destinations. Would highly recommend this tour, and especially our guide Carol — she is clearly passionate about Xi’an and really helped us to experience this beautiful city.

My husband and I visited China for 10 days and by far the highlight of our trip was our visit to Xi’an. Our guide, Ms Lily Xiao was fantastic. She knew the area very well and went above and beyond to make sure our trip was exceptional. From booking our theatre tickets, getting our passes to the museum and thoroughly explaining all of the wonderful historic sites, she made sure that this truly was a great experience. Thank you so much Ms Lily for your exceptional knowledge and guidance. The Wyndham Hotel was in a fantastic location with great proximity to several city highlights.
The terra-cotta Warriors were a breathtaking exhibit and Ms Lily’s explanation of the history, made it even more enjoyable. I can’t say enough about this trip.

This was a wonderful curated experience that took us across key sites in Beijing. While we initially booked a two day tour we had to rearrange to a one day tour due to severe weather issues on the first day. Nonetheless, the company was very kind to help us rearrange the tour and refund us for the first day. Shoutout to Echo on the Operations team for being such a responsive and kind point of contact.

The tour that we did take included the Summer Palace and the Great Wall at Badaling and while there were still some other weather related issues, the company was highly flexible in getting us to a section of the wall that was still open. We initially planned for Mutianyu which remained closed but that was fine as Badaling is more popular with Chinese locals.

Helen was a great tour guide with excellent English, who explained everything about Beijing city and each site in great detail. She answered all of our questions and took good photos of us upon request. Helen and Echo even helped us arrange some time to visit Tiananmen Square after our tour and went out of her to walk with us to show us how to enter.

I would highly recommend booking with this company again due to their level of customer service, historical and cultural knowledge and overall ability to provide a great tour.

This was our first experience with paying for a guided tour but it won’t be our last. Although there were weather related snafus, we really enjoyed thr tour and would do it again. Helen was a fantastic tour guide - she went out of her way to be helpful and proactive. We LOVED having earpieces to hear her instructions and explanations of the sites we visited. We could hear her clearly even from fifteen feet away. She is extremely knowledgeable and gave us wonderful insights into the history and culture. She also knew the places well, guiding us past the crowds and helping us with entry when it’s typically a bit difficult due to the language barrier. Because of weather closures, we ended up going to the Summer Palace and Badaling Great Wall instead of Forbidden City and Mutianyu, but these were still breathtaking experiences.

I stayed in Guilin with my wife for 2 nights. Our guide, Qiuyan Li, was amazing! She took us to see the rice fields on the first day and on a cruise along the Li River on the second day. On both occasions, she gave us lots of information about the history and interesting facts of the sites, as well as very useful tips on less-crowded spots to enjoy the scenery and grab a meal!

We had a lovely experience with our guide Qiuyan Li and our driver. Our guide was well experienced and she gave us lots of insights not only with respect to the beautiful landscapes, but also about the chinese culture and about their costumes.

We went on 2 tours with Travel China Guide during our 3 day stay in Beijing & were very impressed with the service provided by them. The cost was reasonable & the booking process was easy with quick responses to emails.
The tours were very well conducted & included a pick-up from our hotel, which some other companies don't provide. We also enjoyed the rickshaw ride in Hutong, which was included!
Our tour guide Helen was very knowledgeable about the history of the sites that we visited. She was exceptionally kind & helpful, specially when having to unexpectedly deal with an injured member of our group!

We had a very amazing privat trip with Claire and Mr. Hu, our driver! They picked us up at the trainstation, we were driven by a very comfortable black limousine and the hotels were also high standard! The first day we visited the panda base - they are so cute! After that Claire showed us Chengdus markets and teahouses. On the following days we went to Emeishan and had the fabulous chance to see the golden summit on top of mount emei on a sunny day - it was great!!!!! Remember that it takes 3 hours to get on top with bus and cable car and also so long to come back, but it was the best we had ever seen! Thanks a lot to Claire and Mr. Hu!

We had a wonderful time visiting the terracotta warriors and sights in Xi'an. Jackie was our guide and he and our driver promptly picked us up at our hotel. We made brief stops to two other hotels to get the rest of the people in our small group before heading off to see the terracotta warriors. It was a busy Saturday and lots of people were at the center to see the Terracotta Warriors, But Jackie did a great job of explaining things to us through our earpieces, and helping us to understand the history. We were even lucky enough to get a photo of the farmer who discovered the Warriors just 50 years ago! After the visit of the Warriors, Jackie guided us to a wonderful Chinese restaurant where the staff took care of our every need. We then went to the Large Goose Pagota and Muslim Mosque (because of high winds today the City Wall was not safe and was closed.) We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'an.

Our family joined the 10-day Beijing/X’ian/Guilin/Shanghai private tour and had an amazing time!

Our guide in Beijing Linda Xie and driver Mr. Hao had been most helpful, kind and professional throughout the trip, helping us seamlessly navigate through the extremely crowded attractions, going to great lengths to help our 89-year-old mom, and making everything easy and enjoyable for all of us. We also appreciate Linda’s detailed explanation about the history and background, and all the interesting stories. We wouldn’t have been able to visit Beijing easily, let alone such a wonderful one, without them!

Travel China Guide were excellent from the initial booking arrangements (Moon) through to the tour. Our guide Linney is a really lovely person, very knowledgeable (answered every question, and we asked lots!) and has perfect English. Both the panda base and Leshan exceeded our expectations. The driver was very careful and his vehicle was clean and spacious. Thank you for a great day!

This tour is simply incredible! The way the itinerary is designed is excellent, and we had an amazing tour guide — the one and only ROCKY! He delivered the best of this tour with mastery: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall! It’s a fast-paced tour, but definitely not rushed — everything was perfectly orchestrated. There was time for bathroom breaks, meals, and most importantly, time to truly enjoy the stunning views of the Great Wall.

On top of that, Rocky took amazing photos, and our driver deserves an award for navigating a van through Beijing.

I only had one day to see the main sights, so I was looking for a tour that could cover everything efficiently — and this one did the job. The group was very nice and diverse, and the day went smoothly. Rocky was great and friendly, shared useful information at each stop, and gave us time to explore on our own. I also appreciated the photos he took for us throughout the day. If you’re looking to visit Tiananmen, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall in a single day, this tour is a solid option..

I did with a tour guide named Rocky in China, Beijing visiting places like the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and the Great Wall. The tour is for sure recommended, if you want to skip the long queues, as Rocky knew how to handle the masses. The info on the Forbidden City especially was very interesting. As for the wall, we went in April and the part of the wall we visited was not busy at all!!! We had a blast going up with Skilifts and going down the toboggan. And Rocky took our pictures in the best angles with a professional camera. It was definitely worth every penny!!!!

Our tour guide is Hong. She was very attentive and made our trip very enjoyable. We had visited the Peak Flown From Afar, Lingyin Temple, the Six Harmonies Pagoda and West Lake. These places are so beautiful and tranquil. Hong was so nice, we mentioned that we would like to buy some Lung Ching tea at the Tea village. This supposed to be a stop for photos only but she tooke the trouble to contact the owner there and allowed us to try the tea before we had a chance to buy it. Thank you so much Hong!

Great tour with Helen. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about Beijing. She was very accommodating for everyone when they needed bathroom breaks or were hungry. She told us the best ways to get our best photos. If people stopped to look at things she would always wait and give us as much time to look around as we wanted. She was fantastic.

We are so grateful I booked this tour! Trying to navigate the buses, elevators, escalators, and cable cars on our own would have been overwhelming—but this tour made seeing all the must-visit spots smooth and stress-free.

Lindsay truly made the experience exceptional. She was constantly attentive to the group’s needs, with an expert sense of timing—knowing exactly how long to spend at each stop, where to take the best photos, and what parts might be more challenging for some travelers. She went above and beyond, helping us order food, pointing out where to find water, and even carrying motion sickness medication for those who needed it on the winding roads.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience and one we will never forget. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate—this tour is a must!

I was very happy with the tour overall as the locations that we visited were absolutely stunning and our tour guide Tracey was extremely friendly and accommodating, selecting a great restaurant for us to experience the delicious cuisine of Hunan province and even going above and beyond helping to ensure that I made it to the train station ok and even assisting me as a translator when I was in a difficult situation after the tour. I truly enjoyed this experience and Tracey is an excellent tour guide! However, I would recommend that anyone who purchases this trip reads the fine print as entrance fees are not included in the quoted price for the tour.
