The entrance to the Dongguan Mosque
Located in the eastern urban area of Xining City, the Dongguan Mosque was built in 1380. It is one of the largest one in Qinghai, covering a floor space of 12,000 square meters. It has an assembly prayer hall that can hold up to 3,000 people. It is famous for not only its magnificent architecture but also its religious importance as a key learning institution of Islam. As I know, there is a train running from Qingdao of Shandong to Xining of Qinghai everyday. It tales about 32 hours on the way.
