Foreign athletes on the International Road Cycling Race, Qinghai

Held in July or August every year, Qinghai Lake International Road Cycling Race is an international road cycling race with the highest altitude (5,906 feet to 12,467 feet), enjoying the fame as the top professional road race in Asia. About 140 athletes from 21 teams spanning all the five continents around the world come to take part in the 10-day race every year. The race route centers on the Lake and covers a total of over 1,350 kilometers (839 miles), surrounded by the beautiful landscapes.

We need 4 soft sleeper train tickets (all in ONE CABIN) from XINING to LHASA. Our Flight arrives in XINING at 1305pm on Sunday and we will transfer to train station immediately. Please advise which train for us to catch. Probably safer to take T27, just in case of flight delay? Does Train T27 run on Sunday or else what is the alternative train?

Can we purchase & collect the ticket from Chengdu Train Station?

Yes, T27 is a good choice for you, since the train T27 departs daily from Beijing and it leaves Xining at 18:08.
For details, you would better consult the staff at the train station.

What about a bus from Beijng to Xining?
How long does it takes? prices?

Hello Mr. Francesco, It is not a good idea to Xining from Beijing by bus. You know, it is over 2000km between these two cities. It takes 20-24 hours by train and nearly 2.5 hours by flight, 20 hours by express bus. Just know the train ticket price: about 420RMB for hard sleeper, 650RMB for hard sleeper.
