Best Time to Visit Hong Kong
Peak Season: April, July to September & December to February
There is no distinct peak or low season of the tourism in Hong Kong, for there is full of visitors all the time. However, in April, July to September, December to February and multiple festivals and holidays, Hong Kong welcomes a larger flow of tourists. Tourists go there for the Easter celebrations in April, and take their summer vacation in July and August to the super city. Up to September the weather is mild and pleasant for tours, and the discounts make Hong Kong a carnival place for shopaholics in December to February. Some of the months mentioned may not be the best time to go to Hong Kong, but large flows of travelers still arrive, which results in the massive crowds in attractions and the rise of air fares and price on hotels.
Slack Season: March, May to June & October to November
There are fewer tourists in the so-called Hong Kong low season, which are in March just after Chinese New Year, May to June after the holiday of May Day, and October to November after the National Day holiday. May and June are the typhoon season there, thus the two months might be the worst time to visit Hong Kong. However, the air fares would be on discount and you could enjoy your tour with less people.
Times to Avoid Travel
First, the public holidays with crowded visitors should be the time to avoid, such as Chinese New Year, May Day, National Day, and Christmas Day, etc. These holidays may be the best time to travel to Hong Kong in consideration of weather. However, the scenic spots are overcrowded and the transportation is busy. When the typhoons come, don’t hang out in Hong Kong as well. For visiting amusement parks like Disneyland there, weekends and holidays are never the good time.
Moreover, many conferences and meetings are held in Hong Kong every year. During the sessions, the prices of hotels there go up rapidly. So you’d better not go to Hong Kong in such a time.
