We are three adults, would like to travel the duku highway from urumqi to korla and kuqa to kashgar.

Where should we take an overnight stay? Can we go to lli? We would also like to see the Muztagh Ata.Is july/August the right time to travel in these places? Would we get to see the Apricot Valley? How can we go to Xi'an from here? Can you please guide us the right route?

1. As I know, you can find several villages on the road.
2. July and August will be suitable to travel in these places. Yes, yo ucan see the Apricot Valley.
3. From Xi'an to Urumqi, you can take the normal speed train from Xi'an Railway Station. Or taking a direct flight is also ok.

Plan to go with my family of 3 from Urumqi to Kashgar & interested travel by road during day time.

My question: Is this KKH & is it beautiful & scenic? is it worth spending 14 hours of travel?
