Transportation

An extensive transportation network provides different modes of transportation for travelers. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is about 20 km (12.4 mi) from the central district. Travelers can take Metro Line 11 and then transfer Line 1 to Nanshan District Shenzhen. Shenzhen West Railway Station is on the western part of Nanshan District Shenzhen which is very convenient. Shenzhen North Railway Station is another choice, travelers can take Metro Line 1 after getting off the train. Travelers can also take a flight to Hong Kong International Airport first, and then take a frequent bus to Shenzhen Bay Port to Nanshan District.

Within the city area, Metro Line 1, 2, 11 are in service. The taxi charges CNY 10 for the first 2 km and CNY 2.6/km for subsequent distances. It may cost CNY 50-60 from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, and CNY 55-65 from Shenzhen North Railway Station to Nanshan District Shenzhen.

Best Nanshan Food to Try

Nanshan Litchi, Roasted Squabs, Nanshan Oysters, Nanshan Peach, Xixiang Shrimps and other local foods are worth tasting.

Nanshan Litchi
The fruit ripening period is in mid-late June. The litchi is juicy and sweet with soft pulp. With high nutritional value, it is known as the treasure in China. When coming Nanshan District, you cannot miss these.

Roasted Squabs
It is a traditional dish of Guangdong Cuisine and one of three specialties in Shenzhen. Taking pigeon meat as its main material, it is very famous and popular because of its crispy taste, tender and juicy meat.

Nanshan Oysters
