June in Beijing is both the beginning of summer and the first boom of the tourist season of the city. The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival usually falls in June, so various celebrations in the city are additional choices besides the tourist attractions.

In early summer, the sunlight may be very strong in the afternoon, so do prepare some sun-tan oil, lotion, cream and heatstroke preventive. You may also pack a raincoat or umbrella for any sudden rain during travel. Remember not to take cover from the rain under a tree during thunderstorms.
