Tianjin Eye (Tientsin Eye)
Tianjin Eye, also known as the Tientsin Eye, is a Ferris wheel as tall as 120 meters (394 feet). Its full name is Yongle Bridge Tianjin Eye, because it is built on that bridge over the Hai River. Completed on 22nd, April, 2008 and opened on 16th, April, 2009, Tientsin Eye has become one of the landmarks of Tianjin. Tianjin Eye is also the No. 1 Ferris wheel in Asia, the only Ferris wheel built above a bridge and the tenth tallest Ferris wheel in the world. You can ride Tianjin Eye to enjoy the scenery of Tianjin or appreciate Tianjin Eye from afar on Jingang Bridge which is also enjoyable.

Tianjin Eye has 48 transparent passenger capsules with air-conditioning, each able to carry 8 passengers. It takes 20 - 40 minutes to complete a rotation due to the influence of the number of the passengers and the weather. When you reach the highest point - 120 meters (394 feet) tall, equivalent to the height of a 35-floor building, you can see the scenery of Tianjin within 40 kilometers (25 miles).
Best Spot to Appreciate Tianjin Eye - Jingang Bridge
Except for riding Ferris wheel, looking at Tianjin Eye from afar and taking photos are also good choices. This Ferris wheel is like an eye when looking from afar and this is how Tianjin Eye is named. The best place for that is Jingang Bridge, about 800 meters (900 yards) south of Tientsin Eye. When standing on the bridge, Tianjin Eye surrounded by beautiful buildings on the bank of Hai River appears before your eyes. It’s best to come at night when Tianjin Eye and Hai River interact with each other under the illumination of lights and you can see a totally different Tianjin here.
How to Get to Tianjin Eye
1. Take bus line 516, 652, 910, sightseeing 1, and get off at Yongle Bridge Station or Yuanwei Road Station.
2. Take bus line 849, 954, and get off at Shijitianle Station.
3. Take bus line 1, 1inter-zone, 12, 34, 324, 609, 610, 610 inter-zone, 611, 619, 632, 641, 641 inter-zone, 659, 670, 702, and get off at Jingang Bridge Station.
