Can you stay in Tiananmen Square after the flag rising to take pictures and wait for things to open?
Or do you have to make another reservation to come in?

If you have made reservation of Tian'anmen, then you can surely stay after the flag rising and take pictures. However, if you want to visit other attractions on the square, you have to make another reservation to enter.

How long before Tiananmen Square flag rising to arrive
How long shall I arrive before the flag rising ceremony starts? I plan to go on a Tuesday, is it during the week not as busy as on the weekend?

Many people will go there 1-2 hours in advance to occupy a good position.

Is the raising of the flag the same as changing the guards at Tiananmen Square?
Or are these two different ceremonies? And if they are different, at what times do they change the guard?

Actually, the guard changing is only available on the first flag-rising day every month.
