Good News: Since Feb 10th, 2025, tour groups with 2 or more ordinary passport holders from the 10 ASEAN countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia can visit Xishuangbanna visa-free for up to six days. It is an ethnically diverse region in China's Yunnan Province. The tour groups must travel with a Chinese travel agency, and the eligible ports are Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport, Mohan Railway Port, and Mohan Road Port.

Seek inner serenity when hiking Shangri-La’s challenging trails to discover spectacular snow mountains and sweeping plateaus.

For longer trips, consider adding Jianshui to admire its ancient city, Yuanyang for Hani rice terraces, Tengchong to experience volcanic hot springs, and Xishuangbanna to breathe in the tropical rainforest. With two weeks, extend to neighboring Guizhou to explore the Miao, Zhuang, and Dong villages with diverse minority cultures. It takes no more than 4 hours single trip. You may even fly from Shanghai, Chengdu or Xian to Shangri-la directly. Also it is convenient for traveling within Yunnan by flight.
