Turkmenistan Nature Tour

Welcome to Turkmenistan! Our guide and driver will greet you at the airport and then lead you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you. You may get some rest in the hotel and prepare for the following journey.

You may enjoy the time on your own in the morning. In the afternoon, we will drive to Darvaza via vast Karakum Desert and visit several settlements along the way. On arrival, visit Darvaza gas crater, the first highlight of our itinerary. You will for sure be amazed by the giant hole with fire burning. Against such spectacular background, we will have BBQ for dinner and stay overnight in camps.

Today we will drive westwards to the ancient Uzboy River at Balishem. The Uzboy River used to be a tributary of the Amu Darya. For some reasons, it suddenly ran dry in the 17th century and only left desiccated riverbed as well as many relics along the banks. After the visit, we will go picnicking at Guy-Islam desert settlement. In the afternoon, we will head for the Parthian fortress of Ygdykala. In the evening, enjoy dinner by camp and stay overnight.

After breakfast we will set off for Kemal Ata to see volcanic rock formations. Midway upon the journey, we will have a picnic near Koymat settlement and also camp in the wild tonight.

After you finish breakfast, it is time to leave for Yangikala viewpoint to explore the white, red and green limestone landforms, as well as the towering mountains. After a relaxing picnic in the canyon around noon, we will go on driving to Gozli Ata, one of the most sacred pilgrim sites in Turkmenistan. What is more, we will enjoy hiking around nearby canyons.

In the morning, we will set out for Turkmenbashi. Situated on the east bank of the Caspian Sea, Turkmenbashi is an important port city in Turkmenistan. Our guide will show you around the town center. Then, you will be led to the hotel and have a rest.

Today we will head for two scenic spots by car, Misrian Salt Plains and Dehistan Silk Road Town. Dehistan used to play a significant role in the ancient Silk Road because it linked many Persian and Arab countries. Tonight, have a good rest in the camps.

Today we will drive to Nohur mountain village. Along the way, you could feast your eyes on the peaceful Sumbar River valley and the lunar landscapes of the Kopetdag Mountains. Experiencing special customs is a part of our travel experience. So, after we reach Nohur mountain village, we will watch local people's tribal cemetery, pay a visit to their pilgrim site, and learn their silk weaving traditions. When all these activities are done, we will set up camps in the mountain and have dinner.

We will drive back to Ashgabat today, and drop by to visit mysterious underground lake Kow Ata midway. Once we arrive in Ashgabat and check in the hotel, you may plan the rest of the day by yourself.
