Mt. Everest Mini Trek

At around 5:00 am, our guide will be waiting for you at your hotel and then send you to the airport to catch the flight to Lukla (2,823 meters). The tour guide will confirm the time and location of the hotel with you one day in advance. As the plane flies from west to east along the Himalayas from Kathmandu to Lukla, the magnificent snow-capped mountains seem close at hand. If you are lucky enough to be on the left side of the plane, you will have a better viewing point to admire the nature scenery.

Upon arrival, our trekking guide and the porter will meet you up and lead you to have lunch, after which today's trekking journey to Phakding (2,610 meters) will start. The path is not difficult and you can walk slowly to enjoy the pastoral scenery along the way. It will take about 3-4 hours to arrive at today's accommodation in Phakding.

After having breakfast, follow your tour guide going through the pine forest, walking along the Dudh Koshi River, passing the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park - Monjo and finally arriving at Namche Bazaar. If the weather is good, we will see the full range of Mount Everest and Mt. Lhotse for the first time before reaching Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar (3,427 meters) is a popular gathering place for tourists and Sherpa businessmen. Every Saturday, there is a big fair where visitors can see local products and learn about the local culture. We will have dinner and stay overnight at Namche Bazaar today.

We will set out after having breakfast. First, we will trek for about an hour to Everest View Hotel, where you can enjoy a cup of hot tea and have a good view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam up close. After that, we will continue our journey to Khumjung, a traditional Sherpa village. On the way back, the guide will accompany you to tour the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.

The climb down from Namche Bazaar to Lukla has some rough, muddy sections that are challenging and taxing on your knees. We will cross a suspension bridge and walk through a forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. While go trekking, you can also admire the towering Himalayas in the distance. After arriving at Phakding, you can take a short rest and then continue the journey to Lukla. The whole hike today will take about 7-8 hours long. After arriving in Lukla, take a shower and have a good rest.
