Yunyang

In eastern Chongqing is Yunyang County with over 1,400 years of history and a reputation as the 'Bright Pearl of Chongqing'. The county abounds with natural resources, beautiful landscapes and historical relics. The culture of Ba (the ancient name of Chongqing), salt culture and the culture of the Migrants from Three Gorges area can be learned in this area.

The scenery here is rich. Mountain, river, valley, cave and ancient architecture can be seen here. Zhang Fei Temple, which is regarded as a wonderful historic relic of the Yangtze River area is a must. It was built in memory of Zhang Fei, a general of the Three Kingdoms Period (220 - 280). The temple, with over 1,700 years' of history is visited by numerous tourists from home and abroad every year. It has been a hotspot for Yangtze River Cruises.

New County of Yunyang

Because of the Three Gorges Dam Project, territories of Yunyang County have been submerged. The whole county and its local people have moved to the new county of Yunyang. Located at Shuangjiang Town on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, the new county is 162 miles from the Three Gorges Dam and 223 miles from Chongqing City. It is the county that has moved the longest distance among the migrating counties and cities during the Three Gorges Project.

Together with the people, Zhang Fei Temple, which is the hot scenic spot here has also been moved to Panshi Town which is opposite the New Town of Yunyang.

After years of construction, Yunyang has developed quickly and now has over 150 thousand local residences. The museum presenting the culture of the Migrants from the Three Gorges area has been built. Now, it has become a city with a good environment, well-developed communication and rich tourism resources.

Tips: Zhangwang Fair which is to celebrate the birth of Zhang Fei is usually held on August 27 (lunar month) in Zhang Fei Temple by the local people. Some sacrifice activities are held in the temple.

could you please tell me bus route from chongqing university (Huxicampus) to glass bridge.

From your campus, you are suggested to take a taxi to Chongqing North Railway Station Coach Station first. Then take a coach to Yunyang. After arriving, hire a private car to the scenic area.

Yunyang Longgang travel from Chongqing city and Yunyang area logistics

For Yunyang Longgang Geog park where do i board the shuttle bus ? There are scenic routes 1, 2 and 3 and after completed eg. park 1 do I have to take the bus back to the shuttle bus station change bus to go on route 2 and then again route 3 ? Can all the routes/park be completed in 1 day or 2 days ? If need to stay overnight where do you recommend to stay Hotels in Yunyang town or near park entrances ?

You can take a coach to Yunyang Lianhua Coach Station first. Then take a taxi to Dongcheng Coach Station to the scenic area.

Generally speaking, one day is a little bit tight. You can easily find a nice hotel in Yuanyang Town. Most of them have clean environment and kind service. Thus you can pick one when you arriving there.

Yunyang Longgang Geological Park Scenic Place

Hi, i am planning to visit this place on 26th December 16. I am travelling from Chongqing City Centre by private rent car. Is 1 day trip enough to see the Cloud Bridge, Mirror/Qingshui Lake, Road of Love, Glass Cliff Walk, Xiaozhai Tiankeng, Dragon and Moon Cave? If not where do i need to stay there which is most convinient to The Park? Is the Park open in December? Thank you.

It would take nearly 7h driving from Chongqing to the Geopark. Thus one day to cover all of the mentioned spots is obviously not enough.
You may get up early and arrange1 day's visit to Longgang Geopark and surrounding spots first, then spend the night at YY County, which is around 1.5 hours' drive away from the park. The next day, you can consider heading to Xiaozhai Tiankeng by 3 hours' drive.
Longgang Geological Park opens during 8:00 – 18:00 in December. But you should notice that the ticketing service stops at 14:00. You should get to the park before that time.
