Stone Forest (12)

The Stone Forest is a representative of Karst landform. In the remote past, this area was in a boundless sea with limestone in it. Later, because of movements of the earth's crust, the limestone became exposed. Then, over two million years ago, the limestone started to erode to form today's Stone Forest.

Dianchi Lake (2)

Dianchi Lake is the biggest lake in Yunnan Province and also the sixth biggest fresh water lake in China. It covers an area of about 297.9 square kilometers at an altitude of 1,886 meters.

i have a down syndrome adult 25 yrs old - is Kunming a good place to move to? Is there help?

My wife is Chinese from Shanghai and we are thinking of moving to China, perhaps Yunan Province and quite possibly Kunming area. Can anyone recommend a good source of information relative to such things as housing cost and availability, any predominately English speaking areas, or any other facts that might be of interest to me.Thanks you !

I think you may live near the Bar Street (wenlin street) of Kunming where there are always lots of foreigners especially in the evening, and the house price is around CNY10,000 every square meter nearby.

My husband and I go to there every year and stay about 4-5 months. We like the N part of the city. Its a newer area. Its very convenience to downtown KM. You can find apartment for rent, ranging from $300 up. There are many foreigners from different countries.

Hi, can anyone advise if it's easy to travel in Kunming, Lijiang? Intend to be there end Dec with family of 5 on tight budget. What about the weather then? Thanks very much for your advice!

Yes，it is easy to travel in both of the two cites and between each other. The temperature is 5-20C if it is sunny. Maybe colder if it snows. Need to wear sweater and overcoat. If you want to visit the snow mountain, need to wear heavy down coat. Kunming is a warm city.
