A luxurious cruise ship passing through the magnificent Qutang Gorge
Qutang Gorge, which is like a lock, is famous for its steep majestic cliffs on both banks of the narrow stretch of water. It is the most dangerous and shortest of the three gorges on the Yangtze River. It starts at the White Emperor City of Fengjie in the West and ends at Daxi Town in Wushan County in the east, stretching for eight kilometers. Attraction Intro: Qutang Gorge

It will be still hot. The temperature may above 35 degrees in mid August. There may be thunder showers. Just wear summer clothes.

We are planning to travel to China with our daughters, 9 & 12, in late June/early July. It looks like Chengdu and Yangtze will be too wet during this period, is this correct assumption? We plan to go to Beijing, Guangzhou and a few other spots. I would appreciate any recommendations on other areas of the country where there are places and activities of interest for a family without a lot of rain at that time of year.
Thanks

Yes, the weather in Chengdu and along the River is wet, but much better than in Aug. Maybe you can go to some northern cities in China, like Beijing, Xi'an or Harbin. You may choose some itineraries based on your request from China Tours(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/default.htm)
