I am intending to travel xinjiang with a female friend. Is it safe for 2 girls to travel alone?
would 1 week be good to travel around the various places in that area?
And also are there any interesting things to do and places to visit other than the usual touristy spots?
Like places off the beaten track?

Hello there , umm, I am a local Urumqier, but now i am studying in Autralia. I would like help you about your questions. It's definitely safe to travel with your Female friend, but if you got any chance to go with a man, that would be much better, not because that place is not safe.　as you might know Xinjiang is the biggest province in China. you can't acturally take 1 week to travel around, but you do can pick some siginificant places to go. I can tell you more about everything you wanna know.

hi ~ its safe but its nice to have a guy come with them ..
there is alot of places that area u can go to .. u wont be disappointed

Hello,

my boyfriend and I are looking for a Summer job in Urumqi or surrounding areas teaching English. We are both native English speakers who are taking Masters qualifications at a British university. We would be available from some thing like June until September. I'd be very grateful if anyone is able to point me in the right direction. I am worried about stories I have heard about disreputable agencies and fake illegal visas etc.

I have a freind who has a english school in a smal town called shihezi it is about 2 hours by taxi from urumqi this town i great very clean and people are great she may be able to offer you something. Shihezi is a far btter city to live in than urumqi and there has been no ethnic trouble in this city if you want me to ask please email me imperial.net.au|brad my name is brad
