hi. i am planning to visit the silk road around end oct 2009. do i need winter wear when i am visiting tianchi? is snow possible? and has the fruit season over?

Yes, tianchi is quite cold, but you can rent warm cloth there. it will snow sometimes in October. July, August and Sptember are the fruit seasons

I plan to visit Xinjiang in May 2009. Will Tianchi lake near Urumqi be open in that time? Is the weather in May is good to travel in Xinjiang?

Tianchi lake is open in May and it is near to Urumqi city and takes you 1.5 hour by car.May is a good season to visit Xinjing and the average temperature is 22/24'c,feels warm and comfortable.

hi!i am michael ,welcome to xinjiang!Tianchi lake is also called heavenly lake.May is not the best season to visit it.because spring is late here.At that time,trees and grass is just sprout.the average temperature is 22/24'c.it's warm and comfotable.shirt is just ok.in the south of xinjiang,weather is warmer .so you can visit a famous tour city:Turpan and Kashgar.
