Visitors are going through the entrance to the Ancient City of Jiaohe.
The Ancient City of Jiaohe is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) west of Turpan, covering an area of 220,000 square meters (over 54 acres). It is very distinct in its layout: having only two city gates, the South and East Gates; having no city walls since it is surrounded by cliffs on three sides; what is more, it was dug from earth and nearly no wood was used. A 350m long 10m wide road divides the ruins of this Old town into two parts. 2-3 hours are enough to see it and I think the best time is in the afternoon in the setting sun. Travel by local bus no. 1 or 101 to 亚尔乡 an then take taxi/mini van/or pedicab to the place.

The average temperature is -5C in Urumqi' November. So, at that time, if it snows, the temperature will be -7 to -9C. Summer (July, August and September) is the best time to visit Urumqi.

You should make which airport you are looking for, Urumqi Airport (URC) or Kashgar Airport (KHG). Xinjiang is not a city but a lage region.
