The entrance with brilliant yellow roofs to the Tibet Museum, a treasure trove of Tibetan cultural relics.

Seated near the east gate of Norbulinka Summer Palace, there are over 40,000 antiquities stored in Tibet Museum, including unearthed cultural relics, gifts from central authority since Yuan Dynasty, artistic treasure collected and kept by local government and religious items, ancient literature and so on. You said independent travel is prohibited yet there is a section in this website which list an in-depth itinerary for independent travel, i don't understand. TB28 : Oracle Lake Lhamo Latso (p.2 Tibet tours) - My girlfriend and I are working in China, we both have working visas and are interested in this Lhamo Latso tour, how can we go on this tour? How can we get our permits to go?

Independent travel by foreign travelers is prohibited. You need to join in a tour which is organized by a chinese travel agency. The in-depth itinerary for independent travel means the private tour organized by Travelchinaguide. You can join the private tour of TravelChinaGuide, consist of you and your girfriend only, and we will apply the permit for you for free.
