Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet and also one of the two transfer station for visitor to hitch into Ngari or further Nepal. Ngari is at the pinnacle area of Tibet Plateau housing the loftiest mightiest mountains, which is the most distinctive part of on that plateau, nearly cut off from outside world by snow from November to May. We are senior citizens. We plan to tour China Tibet extensively by train.
How can we do this economically.We donot know chinese...will it be very difficult to travel on our own ? Is there a visit China rail pass like Eurail in Europe ?
What is the cost of Beijing-Lhasa train (sleeping)?

hi, foreign travellers are not allowed to tour Tibet on their own. you would have to have a guide accompanied. the soft sleeper train ticket from Beijing to Lhasa costs RMB1079(lower berth) and RMB1033(upper berth).

i am nepali i want go to nepal by train ,shanghai to lasa and go kathmandu by bus or mini bus , may i go there any difficult , please help me thank you
