Lying or standing, these lovely cows are not disturbed by the changes in the Pala Manor.
Pala Manor, located in Gyangtse County of Shigatse Region, is the best preserved manor of the slave owner in Tibet. The three-storey main building of the existing Manor still preserves its elaborate appearance and decorations. In contrast, there are the weather-beaten houses of the humble serfs. The glaring contrast speaks to us from the past with silent eloquence. Attraction Intro: Pala Manor

Am planning a May trip to Urumqi and Lhasa. What shall I take to handle the chilly nightime weather? Am used to layering, but am particularly interested to know how heavy a jacket to take. And how hot shall I expect for daytime?

It is not hot in May in those places. It may be over 20degree during daytime in Hohhot, but cool down at night. So you still need to take jacket. How heavy of a jacket? No need to be down coat, better to be wind-proof, not thin single layer. Lhasa would be a bit cooler than Hohhot, but not must. Anyway, the weather is still unstable in May, it may be quite warm at noon, but maybe very cool the next day.
