Jokhang Temple Pictures

The splendid Jokhang Temple with a golden roof, is located in the center of Lhasa City and has been the spirit center of Buddhist pilgrims for a long time. It was constructed in the middle of the 7th century by the great Tibet King-Songsten Gampo. Originally, it was used to house the rare statue of eight-year-old Jowo Sakyamuni, but then it was used to house the gilded statue of twelve-year-old Sakyamuni until now.
