Gyangtze Old Street Pictures
Once come to the old town of Gyangtse, please slow down your trace while visiting these villages paved with wide path and houses with white walls.
Gyangtse was once the political, economic and transportation center of the Rear Region of Tibet (current Shigatse Region). The town lies along the north bank of the charming Nyangchu River and is situated at 4,000 meters above sea level. Here, one can explore the Tibetan history while visiting the Pala Manor or purchasing an excellent carpet at the factory. Attraction Intro: Gyangtze Old Street

Hi!
I plan to travel to Tibet in MAY/2010 and, if possible, extend my trip to Nepal and Bhutan. The problem is that i would have to apply for a special visa in Kathmandu (it takes time) to re-enter China from Nepal. Now i am considering a trip to China, flying into Shanghai on May 03, getting to Tibet (by train, from Shanghai) two days after my arrival in China. I have no idea about what kind of tour i am going to book in that place to explore the area. I am that kind of adventurous traveler that enjoys trekking and cycling. I feel bored when going on a drive-tour (4WD, van, etc). So I would like to book a bike tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu, but the cost of this trip is a bit high and i would have to find someone else to join a group. if you have any recommendation about what to see and do in Tibet, please let me know.
