Chinese Shadow Puppetry Pictures
Shadow-puppetry was used as an indivisible part in shadow plays at first, but now most people use it as a kind of handcraft or decoration independently. Because of the close relationships with Chinese operas, the puppetry figures are sculptured based on Chinese operas. Most of the main figures are humans with the one side of the face reflecting different personal characteristics. A common feature is that all figures have a sharp nose and a small mouth. Different parts of the body are made separately and then connected together by strings, so that they can be operated flexibly. The whole process of making a shadow-puppet is hand done.
