My husband and I lived here for a year and now find, as we prepare to go home, that we have 6 bags - large and heavy - that we have to get from Guiyang to Chengdu. Could you tell us if there is baggage check at Guiyang train station and how convenient/expensive it is? Suggestions on how to deal with this issue once we get to the train station in Guiyang. We have traveled by train before, and know space is limited, but so is our money:)

Hi Holly, according to what I got from the website concerning the luggage restrictions, it reads as the following: " The China Ministry of Railways stipulates that the weight of hand luggage you carry onto the train is limited to a maximum of 20 kilograms (44 pounds); other baggage can be checked onto the train and the related formalities should be transacted at the railway station before your departure." Since you have 6 bags, you need check your luggage before you take the train and just take some necessary during the train journey.
