The Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell is about 4.5 kilometers southeast of the downtown Chongqing. General Joseph Warren Stilwell (1883-1946) was the chief commander of US forces in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II. In 1942, ranked as a major general, he was dispatched to CBI and was regarded as the best field commander in the United States Army. 00ReplyI just stayed in the Harbour Plaza hotel.
Amazing shopping attached and the street activity at night was impressive. FULL OF LIFE and a short cab ride to the old city market.

00ReplyHi Ms.Ang, flight from Singapore to Chongqing takes 4hrs 30mins and your trip to Kunming will take you about 1hr. Weather from end Sept to mid Oct is cool. Day time temperature hovers around 24 to 27C, not much sunlight and can get foggy and at nite, it is abt 20 to 22C. It can be quite chilly at times.
