Some beacon towers like this one scattered in Dunhuang and each of them was guarded by soldiers in the past.

The Dunhuang Great Wall is a unique section of Han Dynasty, which were made from concrete slab and reed. During the construction of this section, a large quantity of reed and plant produced in local area were used. Yes, most sections need an admission fee, especially the famous sections for sightseeing~
