Bell & Drum Towers Pictures

Seated in the north end of the axis of inner city, the Drum Tower was first built in 1272 and open to public in 1980s after much repair.

Bell and Drum towers, the buildings were originally for musical use and but were later used to announce the time during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties (1271-1911), are unique tourist attractions, located at Dongcheng District, at the end of the central axis of the Inner City of Beijing.

We will visit Beijing at the beginning of Sept,will the bell and drum tower be open to the public.

I am thinking of visiting Beijing and the great wall of china in the first week of apr... how's the weather like? Any sand storms or rain storms during this period? Thanks!

April should be one of the best times to visit Beijing without cold weather and rainfall. Most of the days are plenty of sunshine, very comfortable.

I will visit Beijing in mid November.As a senior citizen who would like to visit Tiananmen square and Forbidden city by walking which hotel is the closest. Novatel xinqiao or Prime. Thanks

Hi, Mr Richard, If you stay in Prime, you are close to the back yard of the Forbidden City or if you are in Novotel Xinqiao which is next to Chongwenmen, you are close to Tiananmen Square. Prime seems to be closer by walking.
