What to Expect

Built in Ming Dynasty, Yongle reign (1403-1424), Huanghuacheng Great Wall has been standing here over 600 years as the North Guardian of Beijing. It has not only absorbed various virtues of majestic Badaling Great Wall and charming Mutianyu Great Wall but also sent forth its own glamour. Embellished by a wide variety of flowers and greenery, the wall and lake were ablaze with the color of all seasons.

The Great Wall winding over rugged mountain range draws an outline of the mountain shape. Together with the blue sky and reflections in water, a brightly colored painting presents before eyes.

In year 1974, a reservoir was built, which caused raising of water level. Some parts of the wall were inundated and it led to the current unique features. Now, visitors can still see the underwater parts of this giant "sleeping dragon". Visitors can also walk along the cliff road and take a boat to experience different aspects of this resort.

Apart from above scenery, travelers can stroll along a chestnut garden as well, or even join some watersports or go camping during summer time.

How to get to Huanghuacheng Lakeside Great Wall?

By Tourist Bus:
If going on weekends, Mondays and Fridays, tourists can take a direct bus at Exit B of Dongsishitiao Metro Station at 08:00 to the great wall and the bus returns to Beijing at 15:30 from the attraction. Or there are also tourist buses from Dongzhimen at 07:45 on weekends and they return to Beijing from Huanghuacheng Great Wall at 14:40.

By bus:
Take bus No. 916 at Dongzhimen transport hub and get off at Nanhuayuan Sanqu, walk around 300m to Nanhuayuan Siqu bus station, then take bus h21 to Xishuiyu. Huanghuacheng Lakeview Great Wall is around 600m away from bus stop.

Trip between Huanghuacheng and Mutianyu

Hello,

I would like to know how to go from Huanghuacheng to Mutianyu by bus, taxi, other... how much time, avaibilities and the cost if possible ?

Take bus no. H21 at Xishuiyu at the east gate of Huanhuacheng to Yujiayuan, then walk northward to take H23 operating from 05:45 to 19:00 to Mutianyu Roundabout. The departure time of H21 is 06:10 08:00 08:35 09:55 10:35 11:35 12:15 12:55 13:35 14:35 15:35 16:35 17:00 17:35 18:15 19:05.
It takes CNY 4 and 2h40min.

Doubt about Tour to Huanghuacheng Great Wall

Hi ! I am Daniel ( from Spain ) and I am going to travel around China in May-June 2024. I would like to know if this Tour is working nowadays, and if the turistic bus is working also. I still have planning my route by China, but I have to purchase a train from Pingyao to Beijing for Thursday 30 Abril ( I stll don´nt know if in a normal train or in a sleeping train ).

I would like to know if turistic bus from Beijing is starts at 8:00 am on Friday ( day 31 May), for being sure about my booking of this tour for Huanghuacheng.

If everything it works good, I would book the tour, and my tickets train to Beijing and my accommodation close to departing place of this turistic bus in Beijing.

The attraction is always open to welcome tourist, also in May - June. And the transportation on this booking page is also available, but note that the bus H21 stops at 13:05 and bus no. 916 runs from 6:00-21:30 at Dongzhimen. If going on weekends, Mondays and Fridays, you can also take a direct bus at Exit B of Dongsishitiao Metro Station at 08:00 to the great wall and the bus returns to Beijing at 15:30 from the attraction.
From Pingyao to Beijing, there are three high speed trains taking 4 hours and two overnight normal trains take 9 or 12 hours for your choice.

Huanghuacheng Great Wall Speedboat child tickets

Hi We’re planning to visit Huanghuacheng Great Wall in April, two adults and two kids, we would like to buy Admission Ticket + Single Trip Speedboat. Do children need to buy speedboat tickets? If so where can I buy it? I only can see Admission Ticket + Single Trip Speedboat tickets for Adults, but no option for children.

It seems little kids are not allowed to take the speedboat for safety reasons. If your children are tall enough, just buy the speedboat tickets on the spot. Have fun~

The Bus 916 Express is operated between 05:50-20:00 with an interval of 15-20 minutes while H21 operates from 05:35 to 18:20 with an interval of 20-40 minutes.
