Famen Temple was founded in the late Eastern Han Dynasty (25 - 220 AD), and it became a royal temple in Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD). It was the holy land of Buddhists because the Buddha's finger bone relic is enshrined here. Book the ticket and you can see the bone at Namaste Dagoba on particular days.
You will surely be attracted by the Namaste Dagoba that has a unique appearance. The Namaste Dagoba looks like a sincere believer’s hands together, special and full of Buddhist meaning.
Book the ticket and you can enjoy walking on Foguang Avenue, which is broad and long. If you are a Buddhist, you can worship Bodhisattvas along the avenue for statues of ten Bodhisattvas are set on both side of the avenue.
You can also visit the Tang-style architectures and learn some common knowledge of Buddhism. Among these ancient architectures, the pagoda in Famen Temple is a highlight, which was regarded as a Buddhist pagoda that could bless the whole country.
Besides, you will see quite many treasures in Tang Dynasty. These were royal sacrifices for the Buddha and were found in the underground palace, which are delicate, dazzling and priceless.
