Questions & Answers on Chinese Embassy in France

Visa expiration
Hello,

I hold a French passport and live in Sweden, and my 2 year old son as well, and think of a trip to China with the visa free entry.

If we book a return flight that fits within the 15- day visa free period, but that return flight is either postponed or cancelled and the new flight offered by the airline departs after the 15-day period, what happens? How Chinese authorities would handle this? Obviously this would be known shortly before the period expires so I don't see how a extended stay application could be made.

Beat regards

If it happens, you need to go to the exit and entry administration of local public security bureau and apply for a stay permit there.

Thank you Keith.

If the flight takes off from my home on a Saturday and arrives on next day Sunday local time in China, will day 1 of the 15-day period be indeed on Sunday?

Dates for 15 day visas
My mother in law is coming to visit us in China on a French passport. She has booked to arrive in China on Tuesday the 16th of April at 15.25 and will leave on Tuesday the 30th at 01.00 so she will check in on the 29th before midnight.

Is the 16th counted as a day? If so 16th to 30th is 15 days, is this fine for the free visa on arrival? Thanks

Yes, you can apply it in Marseille Chinese Visa Application Service Center at 165 Avenue du Prado, 13008 Marseille. But it's not guaranteed you will get it. Generally, the rejection rate of applying in the third country is higher than in your home country. Anyway, good luck to you!

China Visa Renewal
Is there an expedited service in Paris to renew an expired China Visa? My passport expired Nov of 2020 and I need to travel to China on July 9th. Do I need to go to the Chinese Embassy or is there a service that can go in person for me?
