The introduction
Namibia is located in the southwest of Africa with an area of 820,000 square kilometers. It was formed by four primary geographic regions; each of them can arouse great attention of the adventure travelers. It abounds in many species of wildlife. Nearly 88 percent of the population is blacks. English is the official language. Its history is an accumulation of invasion and colony. Namibian people fought hard for the independence and peace. On March 21, 1990 it finally attained independence and was recognized in the support of the international communities.
The Economy
It is rich in mineral resources including the copper, silver, uranium and diamond. A number of features make this land unlike any spot on the earth. Most importantly, it is the richest sources of diamonds, thus it deserves the world's largest diamond producers. Mining is the backbone of its economy. 90 percent of the minerals are used for exports. Namibian government gives the priority to agriculture because of its abundant resources. The animal husbandry developed rapidly and steadily. Fishing also brings great profits.
Visa information:
Chinese citizens need to take the valid passports and visas to Namibia; it is also lawful for citizens of Hong Kong and Macau to go with the valid passports and round-trip or next stop air tickets for up to 30 days without a visa. For workers, visa needs to be applied for in the embassy in Beijing ahead of time. Otherwise, Chinese citizens holding the expired passports or sojourn illegally might be arrested or deported.
Tips in transportation:
There hasn't been direct flight in operation between China and Namibia. One option is Beijing- Frankfurt - Windhoek, the more economical way is Beijing - Hongkong - Johannesburg- Windhoek. It is best to take bus to Windhoek international airport in view of security.
