General Information:
Name: The Central African Republic (La République Centrafricaine)
People: At the end of 2006, the Republic of Central Africa has a population of about 4 million. There are over 60 nations of varied scale, including Gbaya, Banda, Bantu, Ubangi and Ngbandi.
Language: French is the official language while Sango is a commonly used language.
Religion: About twenty percent of the people embrace Catholicism, fifteen percent of the people believe in Protestantism, five percent of the people conform to Islam, while the other of the total population take primitive religion as their belief.
Geography: Central Africa is a hinterland country which is situated in the middle of African continent. It neighbors Sudan, Congo, Cameroon and Chad respectively in the east, south, west and north. The country covers an area of 622,984 square kilometers (240,535 square miles).
Capital: Bangui is the capital of the country and the population of it reached 548 thousand at the end of 2006. In February, it is hot; while in July and August, it is rather cool and suitable for sightseeing.

Climate: Central Africa has a tropical climate and the average temperature is about 26 centigrade (78.8 F). Although the area has a steady temperature throughout the year, the temperature varies greatly between day and night. The country has a rainy season from May to October, and the dry season is from November to the next April.
Relationship with China: The diplomatic relation between Central Africa and China was established in 1964. Although the diplomatic relation experienced a short break, the communication between two countries has been greatly improved after the reestablishment of the relation.
