 History
The Illyrian who has inhabited in the west of the Balkans in the prehistoric period is considered to be the ancestor of the current Albanians. Surrounded by the powerful empires, this country was involved in the lasting violence for control for centuries. In the 6 century BC, the Greeks set up their colonies in the coastal area of Albania. Some small countries were built in this region in the later 5 Century BC, but declined soon. In order to wipe the marine threaten, the Rome Empire levied wars against the Illyria from 229 BC and conquered this region totally in 27 BC. Then, Illyria was listed as one provinces of Rome. Later, along with the breakup of the Rome Empire in 395, the northern Illyria was controlled by the West Rome as well as the southern part belonged to the Byzantine Empire. These empires have left so many self marks in this region, spanning from culture and religion to the architectural style.

In the Middle Ages, the 800 years' dominance of Byzantine Empire was over in Albania. This region was divided into many states and governed by the other countries sometimes. In 1478, the Turks occupied Albania and set up its governance for 400 years. During this period, the Islam was accepted by the Albanian comprehensively. In the 28, November of 1912, Albania declared the nation's independence. In the two World Wars, Albania has been occupied by successively by Italy, France and Germany. Until to 1946, the People's Republic of Albania was founded and renamed the Republic of Albania in 1991.

We already have applied our albanian visa online and it was approved but we ll be going to albanian
We already have applied our albanian visa online and it was approved but we ll be going to albanian embassy in china to get the visa stamp on our passports...will we received the visa if we go in embassy in same day? If not how long would it take to get the visa even we have approved visa online already

To apply visa It takes 7 to maximum of 15 days.

I think you can pay in any bank using the swift code from the website. Btw, how did you do your application? No need to go to china for the appearance? And how do they put the visa stamp in your passport?

Ask for the albanian consul's help here in the Philippines. He would gladly assist you. Wag yung secretary go straight to the consul. He will tell you the detailed process.

Without invitation
I have no friend in albania.can I submite my visa aplication with hotel booking instead of invitation letter

Hi, maybe you can provide the hotel booking for that. You should contact the Albania embassy to inquire this before you make the application.

EU Passport holders
Hi,

Just wanted to confirm that EU (Belgian) passport holders do not require a visa to visit Albania?

Belgian passport holders are not required to obtain a visa when entry and are permitted to stay in the country for a period of 90 days.
