Hongyuan Airport

Hongyuan Airport was first built in in July 2012, and formally opened to traffic on August 28, 2014. With the altitude of about 3535 meters (3866 yards), it belongs to the high plateau airport. Covering an area of 476 acres, it is currently equipped with 4C standard and has a runway of 3,600 meters (3937 yards), a terminal of 3,600 square meters and 3 aircraft stands. It is expected to handle 350,000 passengers a year and 900 tons of cargo.
 Situated at Hongyuan County, Aba Autonomous Prefecture of Tibetan and Qiang Minorities, Sichuan Province, Hongyuan Airport is 48 kilometers (30 miles) away from the Hongyuan County.
 Hongyuan Airport has built relationships with Tibet Airlines (TV), Air China (CA), China Southern Airlines (CZ), Chongqing Airlines (OQ), and Shenzhen Airlines (ZH).

 There is no airport shuttle bus or city bus to Hongyuan County, so taking a taxi may be a good way, which costs about CNY 100 with a travel time of 50 minutes.
 1: Hongyuan Grassland
Hongyuan Grassland is located in the middle of Hongyuan County. Blessed with a vast territory, unique natural landscape and rich resources, it has long been known as the "gold and silver beach" of the plateau. It is a world of flowers and a sea of grass, with unique customs and diverse atmosphere. There are grassy prairies, black and white tents, and numerous herds of cattle, sheep and horses. The most famous Tibetan Buddhist temples in Hongyuan are Maiwa Temple and Dageze Temple. The most famous festival is the “jockey club” which is held on 1^st, July every year.

2: Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area
Located in northwestern part of Jiuzhaigou County, it is 330 kilometers (205 miles) from Hongyuan Airport. This scenic area mainly protects the giant panda, golden monkey and other rare animals and their natural ecological environment. There are 74 species of national protected rare plants, 18 species of national protected animals, a wealth of ancient fossils and ancient glacier landforms. What is known as the "six wonders of Jiuzhaigou" are its alpine lakes, waterfalls, colorful forests, snowy peaks, blue ice and Tibetan customs. Jiuzhaigou is also a national geopark with calcified lakes, waterfalls, karst water systems and forest ecosystems as its main protection objects, which is of high scientific research value.

3: Ruoergai Grassland
Located in the northwest of Sichuan Province, Ruoergai Grassland is known as "oasis of the northwest of Sichuan plateau", and is one of the three major wetlands in China. Ruoergai Grassland has an elevation of 3,300-3,600 meters, also known as Songpan Plateau. The main spots there includes Sun Lake, Baiwa Temple, Jiangzha Hot Spring, and so on.
