Taiyuan Wusu International Airport

 Taiyuan Wusu International Airport is in the southeast of Taiyuan, about 15 kilometers (about 10 miles) from the city center.
 Initially built in 1939, Taiyuan Airport has been expanded and reconstructed several times. Currently, it has two terminal buildings and an 85-acre (340,000 square meters) parking apron.
 There are 20 airlines operating 81 air routes to domestic cities, 8 to international cities and 5 to regional cities. The flights to Beijing are especially convenient. They are given special check-in counters, security check passages, waiting areas and boarding gates as well as priority in departing. The airport also provides regular flights to Hong Kong and chartered airplanes to Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore. Besides, there are international flights to London, New York, San Francisco, Paris and Frankfurt via Beijing and flights to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Penang via Guangzhou.

Taiyuan Airport

Terminal 1 and terminal 2 are connected with each other by a special passageway. Tourists can walk between T1 and T2 within 5 minutes.

 Transportation to Nearby Spots： 
 Wusu Airport → Mount Wutai
1. Passengers may take a taxi to East Long-distance bus Station. It costs about CNY 25 to 30 and takes 15 minutes if one goes along East Highway. If not, it costs about CNY 40 to 50 and takes 40 minutes. Then change to a long-distance bus to Mount Wutai Bus Station. The bus schedules are 07:00, 08:00, 09:40, 11:25, 11:40, 14:40 and 15:30. It costs CNY 70 to 80.
2. Passengers may also charter a car to Mount Wutai directly. It takes about 4 hours. The preferred cars are Jetta (about CNY 1000 one way) and Buick Business Vehicle (about CNY 1500 one way). It is better to have an experienced driver.

 Wusu Airport → Pingyao
1. Passengers can take a taxi, airport shuttle bus line 1, or city bus 201 to Jiannan Long-distance bus Station, and then transfer to a long-distance bus (CNY 25 and about 2 hours) to Pingyao.
2. Passengers may go to Railway Station by airport shuttle bus line 1 or city bus 201 and then take a train to get to Pingyao in 1.5 hours.
3. Take a taxi or airport shuttle bus line 3 to South Railway Station first. Then take a high speed train to Pingyao Ancient Town Railway Station. After that, take bus no.108 to get to reach the Old City directly.
