Location:

Xining Caojiabao Airport, one of high-altitude airports in China, is situated about 17 miles (28 kilometers) from the downtown area.

Brief Intro:

Currently, Xining Airport has 56 domestic air routes operated by 15 airlines. Passengers can take flights to major cities such as Beijing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Kunming and Xi'an. There is only one terminal building here – T2. It covers 10 acres (4.2 hectares) and is equipped with 28 check-in counters, 12 security check channels and 14 boarding gates.

Boarding Tips

1. Passengers departing from the Xining Airport are advised to arrive at least 1.5 hours ahead. The boarding gates will be closed 15 minutes in advance. The check-in counters are closed 30 minutes before flight departure.
2. If passengers do not have luggage, please check in through no-luggage counters. If one gets an e-ticket, he/she may also check in via the automatic check-in machine.

Taxi
It takes around half an hour to get to the downtown area from airport by taxi. The official taxi stands are located outside of Gate No.1, Arrive Hall of 1F. Sometimes, passengers can negotiate the price with the driver if he or she refuses to charge by meter.

Maybe you can choose a restaurant to wait very one, such as the Dicos located on the second floor of the Terminal.

Airport to Xining station at midnight?

I'll arriving at the airport at 22:55(or maybe later), then heading to the railway station.

According to the shuttle bus line schedule above, after 17:00 it doesnt stop at the railway station.

where is closest stop for the railway station after 17:00?

You may get off at Yinlong Hotel by shuttle bus. Then take a taxi to the railway station within 10min.

Yes, you can take airport shuttle bus East Line. It operates between airport and the Main Railway Station. And its service hours are according to the flight schedule. The duration is around an hour. The ticket fare is CNY 21 per person.
