Yichang Subway

Yichang subway is scheduled to operate three metro lines in the future. Subway Line 2 will start construction in 2017. Line 1 and line 3 will be constructed in 2018 and 2019 respectively. By 2023, the rail transit in the city will be around 45 miles (72 kilometers).

Yichang metro line 1 is planned to connect Jiangjiawan and Longquan with the total length of around 27 miles (44 kilometers). It will cover the main commercial areas and transportation hubs, such as East Railway Station, Yiling Bus Station and Yiling Square. Line 2 will start from Yiling Square and end at Yidu, covering around 37 miles (60 kilometers) and including 22 stations via Sanxia Airport. Line 3 will run between Caijiahe and Qiaobian. After being completed, passengers can take subway line 1 and transfer to line 2 & line 3 at Yiling Square. According to the long-term plan, Yichang will add subway line 4 to the urban rail transit system by the end of 2040.

This line will start from Jiangjiawan Road and pass the areas of Yixing Avenue, Yemingzhu Road, Yiling Road, Jucheng Road, Yidang Road and Hanyi Road.

Metro line 3 will connect Xingyi Road and Jiangjun Road in Dianjun District via Yichang South Railway Station. This line will pass Fazhan Avenue, Xiling 1st Road and Yangtze River Tunnel.
