What to Wear in Wuhan in January

Winter clothes are necessary for visiting Wuhan in January for the cold climate. Tourists should wear warm clothes such as fur coats, fur-lined jackets, down jackets, heavy sweaters, and thick pants, etc. At night, more layers should be added to keep warm. Besides, hats, gauze masks, and gloves are also highly recommended. Warm snow boots or thick sneakers are suitable for traveling around the city.

Where to Go in Wuhan in January

When in Wuhan, tourists should be sure to visit the Yellow Crane Tower, the city's landmark located on Snake Hill. With a pretty long history, the Yellow Crane Tower was originally built for military use, but as time changed, the tower became a famous attraction. Many renowned tourists wrote numerous eternal masterpieces about the Yellow Crane Tower, making it become more and more famous over the years. From the top of the tower, visitors can have an overall view of the entire city below.

Another good place to go in late January is East Lake Scenic Area where tourists can marvel at the plum blossoms. The Mo Hill Plum Garden there is one of the four most famous gardens in the whole country.

Other Tips

Wuhan has no communal heating system. Tourists should bring warm clothes or some heating pads. However, the city does have a sound public transport system, so there is no need to take a taxi unless you are in a hurry. Visitors are advised to have some change ready if using the subway or city buses. The strong sunlight during daytime may make visitors feel warm, but the strong ultraviolet rays can cause sunburn; so, it is advisable to ensure skin protection.

The average temperature may be about 2 - 11 ℃ in December and the average temperature is about from 0 - 8℃ in January. You'd better take the winter warm clothes with you, such as the thick sweater, down coat...
