When to Go
Plenty of sunshine and rainfall in this landscape gives Zhongshan City a mild climate. Combined with its advantageous geographic position, it is an ideal place to live. However, the occasional hot summer and sometimes disastrous weather can be disappointing for visitors. Shopping
Because Zhongshan City is easily accessible by sea, consumers can find a wide variety of products from China as well as many other countries. While thi city is slightly smaller than many other cities in the Guangdong Province, the reasonable prices allow it to compete economically with neighboring cities and make it a popular destination for visitors. In recent years, a series national industrial bases and a number of locally featured towns have been built there, which promote economic growth while satisfying a range of consumer needs.

Now, if you are ready to begin shopping, head to Sunwen Xi Road. Sunwen Xi Road is the most attractive pedestrian street of Zhongshan City, featuring a long history and many shops. While you enjoy buying local products and souvenirs, take notice of the exotic buildings along the road, many of which were used as hotel, restaurants and department stores many years ago. Furthermore, if you are visiting there during the harvest season, make sure that you do not miss the many local fruits including litchi, pineapple, bananas, and longan.

If you can imagine Sunwen Xi Road as being a traditional Chinese elder, Fengyuan Business Street, in contrast, is a fashionable girl full of modern vigor. Located on Sunwen Middle Road, Fengyuan Business Street is marked by famous brands and large department stores. Shop away!

Can I use Renminbi notes in Zhongshan

Can I use Renminbi notes in transactions in Zhongshan? I need to go to Zhongshan on personal business but do not have a WeChat and learnt from BOCHK that there is insufficient time to open an account in China. Is it that using Renminbi notes in Zhongshan is very inconvenient as transactions are done using card?

It is okay to use paper money. Though not as convenient as cards, it can be accepted in every place.

You are suggested to go to Zhongshan Ancient County, lots of lamp markets are there, such as Shimao Lamps Square, Aerte Lamps, and Mashen Shijia Lamps in Zhongxing Avenue.

Yes! You may go to Shaxi Night Market on Shancun Street, Shaxi Town, where you will find a great variety of food.

You can go to Fengyuan Commercial Street. There are many clothes shops for sale there. ;)

I would like to know about Western Medical Facility in Zhongshan and its cost.

I would be working there for about 5 -6 years and want to know if Western Medicine practicing Doctors or Hospitals are available there. Also, what are the typical cost of Consultation and Medicine costs. Can they understand English? What other options does an expat have for Medical care in the city. Are there good diagnostic facilities etc.. Please guide. Thanks.

Western medicine practicing doctors are available at every hospital here, but few of them could understand English. You may need a companion who are Chinese.

western medicine and treatments are fairly cheap depending on what your needs are the western medicine that they prescribe is no where near the quality as western generic brands, they do have some western brand names but they are very expensive if they even carry it. most everything is paid in cash up front. you can buy travel insurance in HK. that they will reimburse you for some medical and prescriptions but it can be a hassel to get reimbursed. I paid 1300HKD and it was alright you can go to HSBC bank to buy it.

i have plan to guzhen zhongshan guangdong china for lighting purchases trip..
do have any street or shop to intrude? and any convinient transport and cheaper hotel?
if depart from malaysia , and arrive which airport is easy?

You could take a flight to Guangzhou Baiyuan Airport and then transfer to Guzhen from downtown Guangzhou by bus. It is better to get known of several reliable lighting producers before you come to China.
