How to Travel Between Dalian and Wuhan

Dalian is a northeastern China city by Bohai Sea, while Wuhan is in central China. The straight-line distance of Dalian and Wuhan reaches 1,450 kilometers (900 miles). To travel between, you can choose among the direct flights, high speed train and normal speed train. Flight is the fastest way, taking 2.5 hours with a lowest cost of CNY 290. The high speed train takes about 11 hours on the way, and the cheapest second class seat ticket costs CNY 871. As to the normal speed train, the journey takes as long as 25 hours, and the price is CNY 436 for a hard sleeper.
  

Dalian to Wuhan flights fly from Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, taking 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the destination directly. There are four daily flights are in operation.

You may take the high speed train G2625 at 08:13 at Dalian North Railway Station. After 11 hours and 1 minutes’ travelling on the 2,081 kilometers’ (1,293 miles’) railway, you will get to Wuhan Railway Station at 19:14 the same day.

Getting from Dalian to Wuhan, you can also take the normal speed train T369, which sets off at 15:32 at Dalian Railway Station. It reaches Wuchang Railway Station at 17:19 the next day.

Flying from Wuhan Tianhe Airport to Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport, four direct flights are available every day. CZ6513 takes off at 11:55 in Dalian and lands in Wuhan at 14:30, which is the earliest one. The others are: 8L9891 13:15-15:40, CZ6426 18:55-21:30 and CZ6282 19:50-22:15.

The only direct high speed train from Wuhan to Dalian is G2626, starting from Wuhan Railway Station at 07:27 in the morning, and arriving at Dalian North Railway Station at 18:41 in the evening. The whole journey, 2,081km (1,293mi) long, takes you 11 hours and 14 minutes in total, with 23 stops on the way.

There is only one direct normal speed train that could take you from Wuhan to Dalian. That is train T370. It departs from Wuchang Railway Station at 01:26 and reaches Dalian Railway Station at 06:07 the next day, which means you need to spend a whole day on the train.

There are only a few direct trains running between the two cities. For more alternatives, you could make a transfer at Zhengzhou East Railway Station. For example, you could take G1293 (10:15-18:48) from Dalian North Railway Station to Zhengzhou East Railway Station, and transfer to G585 (20:00-22:11) to Wuhan Railway Station. On the contrary, you may take G586 (10:42-12:28) from Wuhan to Zhengzhou East, then G1294 (13:44-22:26) to Dalian North.
