How to Travel between Beijing and Guiyang

The distance between Beijing and Guiyang is about 2,100 kilometers (1,300 miles). The best and fastest way to travel between the two cities is by air. Every day, about 30 flights are scheduled and visitors can easily reach the destinations in 3 to 3.5 hours. The other two travel ways are high speed train and overnight normal speed train. It needs 8 to 12 hours and CNY963.5-1,066 for a second class seat by taking high speed trains. About the normal speed train, the ticket for a hard sleeper costs CNY426-455.5 and a single trip takes 27 – 37 hours.
 

How to Travel from Beijing to Guiyang

There are about 30 daily direct flights scheduled from Beijing Capital International Airport/ Beijing Daxing International Airport to Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport. The Beijing Capital Airport operates the earliest and latest flights at 06:15 and 21:15 respectively. The whole trip takes about 3-3.5 hours. Discounted tickets can be often booked online. It is suggested to pay close attention to price trend in advance to purchase a cheap one. The ticket fare is CNY600-1,900 for an economy class seat.
 

It is not so recommended to take high speed train except for special circumstances because not only the duration is longer, but also the tickets are even more expensive than air tickets sometimes. Normally, four high speed trains send passengers from Beijing West Railway Station to Guiyang North Railway Station from 07:05 to 11:00 every day. 8 to 12 hours are needed for a single trip.

Every day, 6 normal speed trains are available from Beijing West Railway Station to Guiyang Railway Station. They depart from 07:12 to 22:32 and arrive in Guiyang in 27 – 37 hours. Given the long travel time, it is advised to book a sleeper ticket for a comfortable trip.

From Guiyang to Beijing, over 30 scheduled flights can be chosen from 06:55 to 22:45. Both Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport are arrival airports and the flight time is about 3 hours. The price of the Economy Class ticket may be as low as CNY600.
 

Visitors can also take high speed trains from Guiyang to Beijing. Each day, the trains will reach Beijing West Railway Station from Guiyang North Railway Station in 8 to 12 hours. However, it is noted that there are only 5 trains departing at 09:46 – 19:14 and the cheapest ticket costs CNY709. So such mode of transportation is not a cost-effective and time-saving choice for visitors.
