When founded in 1924, it was only a company doing pesticide spraying. In 1928, it changed the name to Delta Air Lines, and later passenger traffic service was added. In 1941, it moved the headquarters to Atlanta. After combining several other airlines, Delta Air Lines has grown up into the third largest airlines in USA. It is the only American airline that operates the business to Africa. In June 22, 2000, Delta Air Lines, Air France, Korean Air and Mexicana Airlines jointly founded SkyTeam Alliance.
Today, Delta Air Lines operates extensive domestic and international flights which cover North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe, Australia and the Caribbean. In July 2009, it started the flights between Sydney and Los Angeles, making it the only American airlines to have flights in every continent except Antarctica.
