Best Time to Visit Terracotta Army

As an indoor museum, the Terracotta Warriors Museum is suitable to visit all year round. However the best time to visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum during the year is from March to May in Spring and September to October in Autumn as the weather is quite pleasant these times of the year. For a comfortable and easy tour and to avoid the crowds, you are advised to avoid visiting in the holidays. The hours before 10:00 and lunch time also receive fewer tourists and you can pay a visit at leisurely pace.

 The best months to visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum are from March to May, and September to October because the climate is neither hot nor cold. As a grand indoor museum, a visit to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses should be scarcely affected by weather, and it is open to the public all year round. However, from November to March, it is cold and dry in Xi'an and from June through to August, the summer is typically very hot, which may make you feel uncomfortable outdoors. Budget travelers may find that the middle of November to the middle of March is a good time to visit as it is the low season and when the entrance fee of Terracotta Army is lower.  
 As an Eighth Wonder of the World, the Terracotta Army are popular home and abroad and receive many visitors each day. During holidays, it always receive much more visitors than usual, making the scenic spot crowded. On normal days, half a day or even 2-3 hours is enough time to observe the terracotta soldiers and horses. During public holidays, one whole day may be spent for the Terracotta Warriors sightseeing, also taking into consideration lining up for the bus ride (306) to the museum, buying your entry ticket, and going through ticket check. Even after you enter the scenic area, you may need to line in the queue for entering the Terracotta Warrior pits. Kind Reminder: If you cannot avoid visiting the Terracotta Army during China public holidays, especially Chinese National Day holiday, you are highly advised to book entry tickets in advance, because the tickets for these days are always in great demands and can be sold out within a few hours after being released.
 The best time to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum during the day should be prior to 10:00 in the morning and early afternoon or around lunch time. The reason for this is that the large flow of tourists haven’t arrived yet before 10:00 and the majority of them have left for lunch in the early afternoon. This then gives you enough time to tour leisurely and comfortably. If the trip is over by noon, the rest of the day is available for you to have a look at the nearby Huaqing Pool or explore the city of Xi'an.
