Taihu Lake (Tai Lake), the third largest fresh water lake in China, is commonly believed to be the soul of the natural scenery and cultural relics in Wuxi. In Three Kingdom City, Tang City and Shui Hu City to the south of Li Garden along the Tai Lake, the streets, temples and palaces portray China's ancient history. Another famous attraction at Tai Lake is the Lingshan Grand Buddha in the Mt. Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Area in the northern portion of Tai Lake, which is the tallest of its kind in the world.

Attractions Around Wuxi City
To the west of Tai Lake in Yixing, the Sea of Bamboo attracts visitors with its vast bamboo grove - 120 square kilometers (29652.6 acres) rise and fall with the surrounding hills. Jiangyin, north of downtown Wuxi, is the hometown of a number of famous Chinese scholars, including Xu Xiake (a famous traveler and geographer in ancient China). Jiangyin also features numerous beautiful parks with themes that provide information regarding Chinese history.
