Dragon Tower, also known as Heilongjiang Radio and Television Tower, is 336 meters (1,102 feet) high, the second tallest steel tower in the world and the tallest in Asia, that in addition to broadcasting radio and television signals, features tourism, catering, entertainment, advertising and wireless communication. Since it iwas opened to the public in 2000, it has become one of the top 10 scenic spots and landmark landscape in Harbin, and one of the most worthwhile scenic spots in Heilongjiang Province.

Structure of Dragon Tower

The Dragon Tower consists of the tower base, the middle tower body, the upper tower and the top antenna. From the ground floor to the fourth floor, it has a spherical-crowned tower base. The section of the tower body is octahedral and the longitudinal is parabolic. A 2.5-meter-per-second elevator gives access to the various levels within the tower. The tower at 181 meters (594 feet) and 206 meters (676 feet) has an upper steel sphere and upon a flying saucer-shaped construction. The antennas are set at 220.5 meters (723 feet) to 336 meters (1,102 feet). The design of the Dragon Tower shows great ingenuity and its tourism resources are remarkable.

Walking in the Air

The 181-meter (594-feet) sightseeing platform has the longest transparent glass sky walk in the world, more than 60 meters in circumference, providing visitors with a stunning view of the area below the tower. The load-bearing capacity of the glass is 1,000 kilograms per square meter.
 

Dining in Sky Rotary Restaurant

With an area of 1,256 square meters (1,502 square yards), the 186-meter (610-feet) sky rotating restaurant can accommodate 350 people at a time and is the largest aerial restaurant of its height in the world. The 190-meter (623-feet) outdoor sightseeing platform enables visitors to overlook the cityscape. Also, the butterfly corridors inside show more than 2000 species of famous and precious butterfly specimens from home and abroad.

The 206-meter (676-feet) prayer pavilion is the highest one with Fu characters written in over 100 styles of calligraphy. Visitors are able to drink tea while enjoying the splendid urban landscape at the teahouse, a leisure area inside the pavilion.
 

Exploring Northeast Folk Residence Exhibition Hall

The Northeast Folk Residence Exhibition Hall shows the house structure and past utensils, such as Kang (bed), window papers, and a kerosene lamp, enabling visitors experience local customs.
 

Playing on the Highest Swinging

It's definitely a thrilling adventure to play on the highest swing in China, outside the 210-meter (689-feet) sightseeing platform of the Dragon Tower.

Take bus No.7, 24, 52, 68, 71, 112, 209 and get off at Dragon Tower Stop.

Is the restaurant of Dragon Tower open in January (since the sightseeing seems closed)?

I haven't heard news it will be closed. Generally speaking, it will open as usual in January.
