What to Expect

The folded rocks of the hill are naturally piled high into the sky, steep and stacked like a pile of satins, namely Folded Brocade Hill(Diecai hill). Conveniently located on the west bank of Li River, the Diecai hill consists of Mingyue Peak, Xianhe Peak, Siwang hill, and Yuyue hill.

There is a folk saying “Climb the Diecai hill and live up to 130 years”. It looks like a leisure park lying in the center of Guilin city at first glance, but it is evidently a long-lived hill that has been passed down for a long time. If you climb more than 400 stone stairs every day, you will probably live to 130 years old! When you are halfway up, you will be attracted by the incomparable beauty of Wind Cave, which is very popular with photographers.

What is the best place to watch sunset? The main peak Mingyue peak must be a hot spot which is 223 meters high. Standing on the top of it, you will have the panoramic view of blue sky, white clouds, green lake water and amazing mountainous scenery in Guilin city, making the tourists experience what poet Han Yu of Tang Dynasty has described “Rivers seem to be blue silk ribbons, hills look as if green jade hairpins”.

How to Get to Diecai Hill?

Take bus No. 2, No. 203, sightseeing bus line 1 or line 2 and get off at Diecai Hill (Diecaishan) Station.
Take bus 1, 18, 89, 100 or 203 to Dongzhen Road (Dongzhenlu) station.
Take bus 1, 2, 18, 89, K99, 100 or 301 and get off at Fengbeilukou station, which is near the entrance to the hill.
