Cambodia Weather in August

 High Temperature: The average maximum temperature reaches a sweltering 33°C (91°F), emphasizing the need for precautions against sunburn and dehydration. After sunset, it brings some relief with an average minimum temperature of 24°C (75°F), but humidity remains high, contributing to sultry air.

 Abundant Rainfall: With an average rainfall of approximately 163 mm, August sees abundant precipitation in the form of frequent showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms. On average, there are 20 rainy days, indicating a high likelihood of rain almost daily, which requires careful planning for outdoor activities.

 Occasional Wind: Wind direction in Cambodia during August is variable but predominantly southwest. The wind force is generally mild and unlikely to disrupt travel plans. However, during thunderstorms, travelers should be aware of potential short-lived strong winds and other severe convective weather phenomena, and prioritize their safety accordingly.
     Clothes: For clear skies, have a few short-sleeved shirts and shorts. Sun-protective shirts made of quick-drying fabrics are also excellent options. As the weather tends to be cooler in evenings, choose lightweight and breathable long-sleeved shirts, which also protect you from mosquitoes.   Shoes: Some attractions may require hiking or climbing. Therefore, it's wise to bring along a pair of non-slip and breathable sneakers, hiking shoes or trail shoes. For exploring the city or relaxing at the hotel, lightweight sandals or flip-flops are perfect for keeping your feet cool and comfortable.
  Rain Gear: Bring along disposable raincoats for unexpected showers. They're lightweight and don’t take much space of your suitcase. Alternatively, if you prefer an umbrella, choose a compact and lightweight foldable one. Just keep in mind that in strong winds or heavy rain, a foldable umbrella might not be stable.
  Accessories: Opt for a wide-brimmed hat or baseball cap to screen sunlight and rain. Sunglasses not only protect your eyes from the glare but also add a stylish touch. 
  Mosquito Protection Items: In tropical regions, where mosquitoes are abundant, it's wise to bring along mosquito repellent and apply it regularly to keep them at a distance.
