You are in the city center and very close to the Bund. The recommended attractions for you at day time is Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden, City God's Temple, Jing'an Temple and at night the Bund and Huangpu River Cruise.

If you go to Shanghai for a transit, for example, Canada - Shanghai - the third country or region (can't be Canada), then you can enjoy the 144-hour visa-free transit and stay in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang for 6 days.
