Getting Around
Owing to its particular location on the coast of the East Sea and to the south of the Yangtze Delta, Ningbo has been an important Chinese trading port ever since the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties. It is also the communication hub of Eastern Zhejiang Province. This area has developed quickly these last few years and transportation here has become quite convenient.
According to the long-term plan, Ningbo will operate 8 metro lines by 2025-2030. Currently, only metro line 1, line 2, line 3 and line 4 are in service. Line 1 connects Gaoqiao West and Xiapu, passing 29 stations in total. Line 2 runs between Lishe International Airport and Qingshuipu, via Ningbo Railway Station, City God temple and Drum Tower. Line 3 transports between Datongqiao and Gaotangqiao. Line 4 connects Cicheng Town and Dongqian Lake.
